Named "Sports Event of the Year” by Sports Business Journal, the NASCAR Chicago Street Race is a unique two-day sports and entertainment event with a festival-like atmosphere that exemplifies NASCAR’s characteristic fan experience, putting attendees closer to the action than any other sport. Coupled with top-tier live music, the NASCAR Chicago Street Race is a once-in-a-lifetime experiential opportunity for any sports, music, and entertainment fan.

NASCAR will return for the third year to Chicago, one of the most iconic cities in the world with its breathtaking skyline, lakefront setting, historic landmarks and world class attractions including Michigan Avenue, Buckingham Fountain, and the Field Museum. The Chicago Street Course takes NASCAR drivers near many of those highly recognizable landmarks for an experience unlike any other. The NASCAR Chicago Street Race weekend will feature the NASCAR Xfinity Series race on Saturday, July 5, followed by the NASCAR Cup Series competing on Sunday, July 6.

Yes. The race lengths will remain the same as last year’s race. To honor the historic city of Chicago, the NASCAR Cup Series race is named the Grant Park 165 and the NASCAR Xfinity Series race is The Loop 110. The Grant Park 165 will be a 165-mile race with 75 laps and The Loop 110 will be 50 laps with 110 miles.

Race cars will once again exceed 100 mph along several sections of the course’s straightaways, while other sections, such as turns and pit road, require significantly reduced speed.

Yes! NASCAR puts your entire family closer to the action than any other sport. Fans of all ages are welcome to enjoy two action-packed NASCAR races, live music, a range of food and beverage options, partner displays, a Kids Zone, and so much more, making it a truly memorable experience for all.

The NASCAR Chicago Street Race will once again be held in and around Grant Park. There are several parking facilities nearby that will be available for the event. Every public and private parking facility will have accessible parking spaces for those vehicles that have an accessible parking placard or plate. Fees vary for these parking facilities.

Public transportation within the city of Chicago also provides multiple stops near Grant Park.

Collapsible chairs without a chair bag are permitted. However, we’ve partnered with conCHAIRto as a hassle-free option to reserve chairs prior to the event at a discounted price or rent them at the event for the full price. Please see our gate policy for full details on what is allowed.  

NASCAR is fully committed to the Chicago community beyond the race itself and is working hard to ensure that our presence in Chicago will deliver real, tangible benefits to our residents, youth, and local business community. Led by NASCAR veteran and Chicago Street Race President Julie Giese, NASCAR has established a full-time office in Chicago with a team that lives, works, and volunteers in the Chicago community 365-days a year -- further demonstrating NASCAR’s long-term commitment to Chicago.

NASCAR has invested more than $5 million in community-based initiatives, partnering with the Special Olympics of Illinois, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Park District, After School Matters, All Kids Bike, and other organizations to engage youth around STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and career development.

NASCAR has worked closely with the City of Chicago to develop a traffic plan that further minimizes street closures while allowing this event to take place with the highest safety measures.

Yes, the Lakefront Path will remain open throughout the entirety of the event.

NASCAR will work with each residential building within the race footprint 30-60 days prior to the event to develop individualized accessibility plans for each impacted building.

Yes, the sidewalk along the West side of Michigan Avenue will remain open for pedestrians throughout the event.

The 2.2-mile course will be fully enclosed by a barrier & fence system widely used by street courses across the world. It’s comprised of a series of concrete blocks with a fence attached to the top. This temporary barrier system is approved by the FIA, the worldwide governing body of motorsports.

While the race cars will be going faster than normal vehicular traffic, the race cars slow considerably in the turns (of which there are 12 across the 2.2-mile course), thus minimizing wear and tear. A maximum of 41 race cars will compete during windows of on-track activity, compared to tens of thousands of cars that may pass through these areas during the same timeframe under normal circumstances.

In conjunction with local, state, and national public safety officials, NASCAR has developed a comprehensive security plan in conjunction with the Chicago Police Department and the Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) to ensure the safety of everyone associated with the Chicago Street Race and the general public in the area.

The city reminds the public to be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious activity. If you notice something suspicious, notify onsite security or call 9-1-1. If You See Something, Say Something™ is a national anti-terrorism public awareness campaign that emphasizes the importance of reporting suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities.

The City of Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) will continue to monitor the event in collaboration with public safety partners and the Chicago Police Department will enforce restrictions in Grant Park and the affected area as well as facilitate traffic. OEMC will issue any alerts and notifications needed to keep residents and attendees up to date on street closures, reroutes, weather conditions and emergencies.  Sign up for NotifyChicago alerts at NotifyChicago.org. If you are enjoying the festival and find yourself in need of assistance with accessibility, please go to any Box Office, Info or Guest Services booth or security staff with a radio. NASCAR staff will be able to reach the Access Team to meet with you or guide you to the service you are seeking.

For the safety of all our guests, there are no vehicles allowed within the park, with the exception of emergency vehicles.

Guests are welcome to bring their own wheelchairs or electric convenience vehicle (ECV) three wheeled scooters for their personal mobility assistance across the property and into the grandstands for access to view the event for accessible seating. Examples of ECVs are: Hover-round, Jazzy and Rascals. If you have a specific question about the mobility device that you use, please respond with a photo of the device.

Also, manual mobility aides such as crutches, knee scooters and walkers are allowed. Please note that all devices, motorized or  manual will still be subject to a respectful security screening as you enter the park.

Patrons seeking to use accessible seating or the Accessible Viewing Platform and/or the Grounds Pass Accessible Viewing Areas are welcome to have companions with them. These areas are intended for fans that use mobility devices. We ask our guests to be mindful of each other when having companions seated on the Accessible Viewing Platform with them, as space is limited. That being said, no families with minor children will ever asked to be separated.

Grounds Pass Accessible viewing areas will be available on a first come first serve basis. If you purchased a reserved accessible seat, your ticket will provide you with the specific seat and locations of your viewing area.

NASCAR wants all of our guests to feel welcome and have access to the entertainment that we have scheduled for this event. ASL Interpreters will be provided for the musical performances and also available throughout the day for language access as needed. Our ASL Interpreters are certified and seasoned professional performance interpreters. In the event of an emergency, interpreters will be provided on-site. The NASCAR Chicago Street Race ’25 is being held in Grant Park. The park does not offer parking of any kind within its grounds. There are several parking facilities nearby, off of S. Michigan Ave. Every public and private parking facility will have accessible parking spaces for those vehicles that have an accessible parking placard or plate. Fees vary for these parking facilities.

NASCAR welcomes all fans, including those that experience our event with the
assistance of a Service Animal. Service Animals have been trained to perform one (or more) specific task(s) for the person with a disability that it serves. Emotional Support or Therapy Animals are not allowed into the festival for the safety of all our guests. Pets of any kind are not allowed at the event.

A few notes about bringing your Service Animal to the event:

1.) When passing through the gates you will receive a short screening by security or Access Staff. You will not be asked for any documentation. A band will then be placed on the collar or harness of your Service Animal. This band is purely a visual alert to all our staff that you have already been screened and ensure that you are not stopped and asked multiple times in the different areas of the event.

2.) Your Service Animal must always remain with you.

3.) Your Service Animal must be under your control at all times and have a collar or harness and lead.

4.) If (for some reason) your Service Animal displays unsafe behavior of any kind, we reserve the right to ask you to remove the animal.

5.) There will be Service Animal Relief Areas around the event. Please stop by the Access
Center for locations.

Just 17 miles from downtown, O’Hare International Airport (ORD) is one of the country’s busiest and best connected airports.

Passengers may meet Uber and Lyft drivers for pickup at Terminal 2, Upper Level Departures. Fares are based on traffic conditions, but an average fare from O'Hare to downtown Chicago is approximately $35-45.

Passengers arriving at Terminals 1, 3 or 5 can transfer to Terminal 2 aboard the Airport Transit System (ATS), which operates 24/7, between all terminals and the Multi-model Facility.

Taxi stands and black cab pick-ups continue to be available at all terminals, and all rideshare drivers can drop off departing passengers at all terminals. To ensure you have a licensed taxi driver, please use the taxi stands.

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) operates trains from O’Hare to downtown Chicago for $5. The trip takes approximately 45 minutes, which is far quicker than taxis or bus transfers during peak traffic times.

The CTA Blue Line station is accessible via O'Hare's lower level in Terminal 2.

The Blue Line is the easiest and most affordable way to get to and from O'Hare, offering 24-hour service, with more frequent service during weekday morning and evening rush hours. The nearest station to the NASCAR Chicago Street Race Weekend is LaSalle, just over a half mile away. Easily accessible via foot or taxi.

A mere 10 miles from downtown, Midway International Airport (MDW) is a premier point-to-point airport to nearly 80 destinations.

The Uber and Lyft pickup location at Midway International Airport is located at Arrivals, Lower Level - Center Lane - Door 4. Fares are based on traffic conditions, but an average fare from Midway to downtown Chicago is approximately $30-40.

Taxi stands are located at Lower Level, Inner Lane - Door 2. Taxis are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please use the taxi stands to ensure you have a licensed taxi driver.

To reach downtown Chicago, travelers can take the CTA Orange Line. The Orange Line station can be found east of the terminal building at the Midway Transportation Center. Follow signs for CTA Trains or Trains to City to locate the station, via walkway.

From Midway Airport to downtown Chicago, the train takes approximately 25 minutes and the fare is around $2.25. The nearest station to the NASCAR Chicago Street Race is Harold Washington Library-State and Van Buren, approximately a 12-minute walk away.

No.  Only the NASCAR Xfinity and Cup events are eligible for the Weather Protection Plan Policy

The Chicago Street Race Weekend Weather Protection Program only covers General Admission, General Admission + and Reserved seats only.

No. Cash refunds will not be issued. This policy allows General Admission, General Admission + and Reserved seating tickets to be exchanged for future NASCAR races at any participating venue listed.

The Weather Protection Program only applies if a race event is postponed and moved to a date other than the originally scheduled date. Delayed races, regardless of the length of delay are not eligible, including if the event completes after 11:59pm.

The Weather Protection Program will not apply to races that were shortened due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances where the event is counted as official by the appropriate sanctioning body.

Tickets purchased through any channel other than the main track ticket office are not covered under the Chicago Street Race Weekend Weather Protection Program. Only unused General Admission, General Admission + and Reserved seating tickets for a postponed NASCAR event purchased directly from the track are eligible for an exchange under this policy.
