NASCAR‘s second trip into the Windy City to run the Chicago Street Course comes with a handful of changes to competition procedures from 2023.
What hasn‘t changed: the course itself, which you can see in the above photo. The 12-turn course remains at 2.2 miles, same as last year.
What has changed? Drivers will choose their lanes on restarts, for starters. See below for the full list of procedure adjustments heading into this weekend‘s NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series races.

Spotter locations
There are three designated locations, each denoted by the “S” symbol outlined in yellow on the map below.
Restart Zone
Like last year, the restart zone will be located before Turn 12.
Choose V
The Choose V will be at the entry of Turn 6. Last year, this location was in Turn 9.
One To Go Location
The field will be given the “one to go” at Turn 5. Last year, this location was in Turn 7.
Stay In Lane Line
Located at the start of the “frontstretch,” drivers must stay in their lane until they cross this line.
