Where can I walk my dog?
  • Throughout the development of the comprehensive plan for the Chicago Street Race, NASCAR has worked closely with the Park District to help ensure we minimize our impacts to public spaces in the community.
  • Unfortunately, due to enhanced security measures, the Dog Friendly Area inside Grant Park will be closed on July 1-2.
  • Fred Anderson Park, Lake Shore East Park, Montgomery Ward Park are the closest Dog Friendly Areas near Grant Park that will remain open on those dates.
  • Pritzker Park is the closest park green space where dogs can be walked on a leash.

Traffic Impacts/Street Closures

With thousands of participants and spectators along the route, as well as street closures prior and during the race, those traveling downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods should allow extra time, expect delays, or consider alternate routes–such as the expressway system–to avoid the impacts of the race.
