In anticipation of the 2024 Chicago Street Race Weekend, NASCAR Chicago and the Chicago History Museum are teamed up once again for a special pop-up experience to showcase the long history of motorsports in the Windy City.
This year’s experience was expanded with photos, memorabilia, race facts, gear from the inaugural Chicago Street Race and two stints featuring Bubba Wallace’s 23XI 2024 NASCAR Cup Series McDonald’s show car on display.

In anticipation of the inaugural Chicago Street Race Weekend, NASCAR partnered with the Chicago History Museum for a special exhibit to showcase the long history of motorsports in the Second City.
The lobby display, which was free and open to the public without paid admission, allowed Chicagoans and visitors alike a glimpse into the past, present, and future of racing in the city — from America’s first auto race in 1895 to a full Next Gen NASCAR show car on display to the public.
